VRI (LMI 1174)

VRI imaging agent

LMI 1174 (Vascular Remodeling Imaging) is a gadolinium-based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) agent designed to identify elastin, a protein found in the arterial walls and atherosclerotic plaques. The agent is being developed for the minimally invasive assessment of vulnerable plaque and, accordingly, could be used to risk stratify patients for potential vascular events, including heart attack or stroke. LMI 1174 is in late-stage preclinical studies.
